When I was 10 years old, I went on my first trip to Norway. My mom took me to visit our family all across the country, and I had never been anywhere so beautiful. I decided on that visit that I was going to live in Norway, and when I was 19 I made good on that promise and spent a year at Rodde Folkehogskole in Melhus, Norway. I learned Norwegian via the "sink or swim" method, and grew to love the mountains, the people and the pastries.
An old soul, I have pretty traditional past-times. My favorite hobbies include knitting, spinning my own yarn (yes, people still do that!), and watching BBC crime shows while drinking tea. I keep in touch with my Norwegian heritage through my love of knitting, and now that my first child has arrived I find myself knitting quite a lot of baby garments. I am thrilled to be a part of the Nordic Destinations team and help you experience a truly amazing and unique part of the world - Scandinavia.
