Day 1: Arrive Copenhagen – Malmö

Upon arrival, transfer independently by train across the Orresunds bridge into Sweden. Independent transfer to your hotel. Explore Malmo, a city with stunning historic buildings and distinctive Swedish character.

Day 2: Malmö- Glumslöv

Pick up your car rental and drive north. Stop in the city of Lund. Your short drive will take you through the idyllic Swedish countryside, past farms, lakes and towns. Spend afternoon in Lund, a quaint and historic University town, also well known for its Cathedral. Continue north to the town of Glumslov.

Day 3:  Glumslov – Ven – Glumslov

After breakfast, ferry out to the Island of Ven, just off the west coast, included in your package is round trip ferry tickets to the Island. Upon arrival, pick up your bike rentals and explore places such as Landskrona Castle, the Citadellet, the Landskrona museum, and the art hall  Or, why not go swimming on one of the great beaches before returning by ferry to the mainland.

Day 4 Glumslov – Kristianstad

Today head north and explore the city of Helsingborg. The city is situated on the Oresund Sound with a long and rich history. Head east across the Skane to Kristianstad and Ahus. Visit the areas around these 2 towns rich in history and also new contemporary sights and sounds.

Day 5: Kristianstad- Tommarp

Head south with a stop in Simrishamn for a stop. Walk along the streets and enjoy the different Simrishamnhus (houses) with their multicolored doors and windows, or why not visit St. Nicholas Church dating back to 1200's. Continue to Karlaby Kro in Tommarp which is situated in the midst of billowing fields in Osterlen, in the southeast of Sweden. On your way here you will pass small villages with narrow streets and brick houses. Karlaby Kro, once a farm, is a lime washed building with a reed roof at the end of a small graveled road. 

This evening there is a possibility of booking an optional tour to explore the Rock carvings in Nightlight in the small village of Jarrestad. Join in for an exciting tour and watch the rock carvings in the illuminated light. 3000 years ago, they were cut into images in the rock. Whatever their meaning, these images fascinate us even today, in the form of ships, axes, animals and people which are still seen so clearly on the rock surface.

Day 6: Tommarp- Ale's Stenar - Tommarp

Explore round trip today from Tommarp and drive to the south coast for a visit to Ales Stenar (Ale’s Stones) at Kaseberga. This is the site of Sweden’s largest preserved stone ship. Today, the ship consists of  59 boulders in the form of a 67 meter long and 19 meter wide ship.

Day 7: Ystad

Head along the coast, west to the town of Ystad. Explore this small picturesque city along the south coast of Skane and also the city with most half-timbered houses in Sweden.  Ystad has also become well known for the books by Henning Mankell, about police inspector Kurt Wallander.

Day 8: Ystad – Vellinge

Drive from Ystad today along the south coast to the peninsula of Skanor and Falsterbo. It lies like a small jewel in the far southwest corner about 20 minutes from Malmo. Spend your last evening in southern Sweden relaxing and enjoying the views. If the weather is good you can even see the shores of Denmark. Drive inland to your last nights accommodation in Vellinge

Day 9:  Vellinge - Malmo - Copenhagen (Depart Copenhagen)

Drive your rental vehicle back to Malmo and transfer independently by train back across the Orresunds bridge to the Copenhagen airport. Check into your flight home.
