Day 1:  Arrival in Oslo

Arrival in Oslo and take the bus into downtown Oslo. Enjoy spending some time in the capital of Norway – in fact, the fastest growing capital in the world. Use today to get familiar with the city and to find your way around. You will have the whole day tomorrow to explore in more detail.

Day 2:  Oslo 

Breakfast at the hotel. Pick up your Oslo city card today and use it to explore the city on your own. The Norwegian capital is beautifully situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord and surrounded by forested ridges. Oslo offers many well- known sights such as the Vigeland Sculpture Park, Aker Brygge and many museums such as the Munch Museum, the Viking Ship Museum and the Kontiki Museum. These are especially great ideas for the to do list when the weather is bad. Don’t be surprised when you see Norwegians eating a soft-ice cream outside... real Norwegians eat ice cream all year round – give it a try!

Day 3:  Oslo – Flam (train)

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will experience Norway’s most popular trip; Norway in a Nutshell. The excursion takes you through some of the most beautiful scenery in Norway's fjord region; you will travel by train across the Hardangervidda Mountain Plateau and down the Flam Railway. The Flam Railway will take you through wild and beautiful mountain scenery and down to the Sognefjord. There is no other adhesion railway in the world running on normal tracks that are so steep over a long distance.
Upon arrival in Flam you have time to walk around this quaint little village. In the evening you will enjoy a dinner and beer tasting. Dinner includes smoked reindeer, shellfish, fish and shellfish soup, pork shank and dark chocolate ganache cake. You will be served 5 beers for your meal, one for each type of food.

Day 4:  Flam

Breakfast at the hotel. Today you will be doing something active... something that will enable you to see the surrounding area of Flam as well.

Depending on the season and your interest choose between 2 activities today.

November - March; Take a winter fjordsafari by RIB boat for an upclose personal tour of the fjords. Stop in Undredal village for hot beverages and a taste of local goat cheese. Depart mid morning and return, mid afternoon.

OR, January - March; Snowshoe up to the local mountains up to Stegastein viewpoint in Aurland. Enjoy the amazing view and experience how it is to hike in traditional snowshoes. You will be served hot beverages, while your guide tells you all about the culture, history and way of life in this unique place. Enjoy and don’t forget to take the camera with to capture the natural beauty. Note: This trip is suitable for beginner hikers.

Day 5:  Flam - Bergen (Boat, Bus, Train)

From Flam you continue by boat on the Naeroyfjord, Europe’s narrowest fjord, to Gudvangen. From here you go by coach to Voss where you will board a train for the last stretch of the journey to Bergen. Arrival in Bergen – Norway’s second largest city. You will have a whole day tomorrow to explore Bergen but do take some time stroll the streets of this cute, little city.

Day 6: Bergen

Pick up your Bergen city card so you can spend the day exploring. Visit sights such as the Hanseatic Bryggen Harbor, the Floibanen Funicular, which takes you up to a height of 320 meters above sea level where you are presented with a great view over the city, Grieg’s home Troldhaugen, the Fish and Flower Market or the Bergen Aquarium. Use this day to get to know the city and all it has to offer.

Day 7:  Depart Bergen

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer by bus to the Bergen airport.
