May 13:  Arrival in Bergen

Upon arrival, take the airport bus into downtown Bergen. Walk a few short blocks to your hotel. Welcome to Norway!

May 14 & 15:  Explore Bergen 

Pick up your Bergen cards at the tourist office and begin exploring the city nicknamed "gateway to the fjords". For the next 2 days visit sights such as the Hanseatic Bryggen Harbor, the Floibanen Funicular, which takes you up to a height of 320 meters above sea level where you are presented with a great view over the city, Grieg’s home Troldhaugen, the Fish and Flower Market or the Bergen Aquarium. Use this day to get to know the city and all it has to offer.

May 16:  Norway in a Nutshell from Bergen to Oslo

Depart on your journey over the roof of Norway. Travel by train, bus and express boat through the fjords and over to Oslo today with your Norway in a Nutshell ticket. This is a full day of travel but all you will need is your day pack, camera, and yourself. Your luggage will be transported from your hotel in Bergen to your hotel in Oslo. Upon arrival later this evening, walk to your hotel.

May 17:   Syttende Mai Celebration

After breakfast join the celebration and experience the famous Syttende Mai parade, replete with traditional costumes, waving flags, marching bands and hundreds of school children.This is a special day not to be missed. Soak it all in and enjoy the wonder of it all on this very special holiday.

May 18:  Oslo

Breakfast at the hotel. Use your Oslo city card today and use it to explore the city on your own. The Norwegian capital is beautifully situated at the head of the Oslo Fjord and surrounded by forested ridges. Oslo offers many well- known sights such as the Vigeland Sculpture Park, Aker Brygge and many museums such as the Munch Museum, the Viking Ship Museum and the Kontiki Museum. These are especially great ideas for the to do list when the weather is bad. Don’t be surprised when you see Norwegians eating a soft-ice cream outside... real Norwegians eat ice cream all year round – give it a try!
