This is a circular self-guided cycle tour from the city of Turku along the "Archipelago Ring Road", one of the most popular cycling routes in Finland. The tour will take you through stunning archipelago sceneries and you will cross the sea by numerous bridges and ferries. The peace and tranquility, particularly in the rugged outer islands, is a unique experience. Most surfaces along the route are paved, making it comfortable to bike. The profile varies from fairly flat to rolling hills.

Dates: Saturdays, June 3 - August 26, 2017. TBA for 2018

Day 1, Saturday: Arrival in Helsinki

Own arrival in the Finnish capital, Helsinki. If you have time, we recommend you to discover the city and visit some of the most popular places like the Market Square, Esplanade Park or Temppeliaukio Church. We can include a 3 hour guided sightseeing on request. Accommodation at Original Sokos Helsinki.

Day 2, Sunday: Helsinki - Turku

Breakfast at the hotel and then head to Turku on the train. Here you will start your cycling journey. Here, you will have the possibility to explore Turku, the oldest city in Finland. You will have the possibility to store extra luggage at the hotel during your tour. Accommodation at a 3* hotel in the city center.

Day 3, Monday: Turku - Naantali (20 km)

After an optional detour to Hirvensalo Island you will start your tour by cycling towards Naantali. Naantali is a charming and lively seaside town with several very nice restaurants and cafes. The presidential summer residence with a public garden (subject to opening hours) is also located in the vicinity of Naantali. Accommodation in a modern holiday resort or at a traditional Finnish farm

Day 4, Tuesday: Naantali - Kustavi (50 km)

The second day of cycling will take you via Velkua to Kustavi. The first part covers some rolling hills but there is no hurry to the first ferry for the day. The route will take you over some bridges with magnificent views. Accommodation by the sea.

Day 5, Wednesday: Kustavi - Korpo (40 km)

Shortly after departing in the morning you will take the ferry to the remote island of Inio. Enjoy the nature trail which offers scenic views over the island and take a short stop in the local village. A one hour ferry ride with m/s Antonia will take you further to the island of Houtskar. In Houtskar you may visit the village, a museum with traditional boats and the charming wooden church. Continue along the winding roads and to the ferry to Korpo. Your accommodation is situated by the seaside. You are welcome to enjoy a Finnish sauna and a dip in the sea. Accommodation by the sea side.

Day 6, Thursday: Korpo - Nagu (40 km)

After breakfast, you will cycle back to Korpo village and further to the short ferry, cross over to the village of Nagu. In Nagu, we recommend a stop in the main village with its lively Swedish-style guest harbor. Accommodation and dinner at B&B Vastergard.

Day 7. Friday: Nagu - Turku (50 km)

In the morning, you will continue back to the main land with another ferry. Half way you will pass the small seaside town of Pargas. In the evening, you will complete your Archipelago circle and arrive in Turku. This is where you will end your biking in Finland adventure. Accommodation in Turku city center.

Day 8, Saturday: Turku - Helsinki 

After breakfast, you will depart for Helsinki on the train. Spend the night in Finland's capital Accommodation at Original Sokos Helsinki.

Day 9, Sunday: Depart Helsinki
